Energetic Amanda Palmer, of Dresden Doll’s fame, is a free agent after being released from Roadrunner Records early this year. She’s celebrating this how? Well, by releasing what ever the fuck she wants and whenever she sees fit. That has lead to her new pet project, Amanda Palmer Performs The Popular Hits Of Radiohead On Her Magical Ukulele, a short but relatively sweet collection of pre-Amnesiac covers of songs you’ve all heard covered so many times before. Even still, her cover of Idioteque is worth mentioning. It’s sparse but still holds some of that uneasy feel of the original. Purchase Amanda Palmer Performs The Popular Hits Of Radiohead On Her Magical Ukulele here, at the low price of $.84 (or more if you’re feeling generous)

usually people slaughter Radiohead covers, but you are right, she does it some fantastic justice.
also, I recently saw the trailer for the Facebook movie, The Social Network, and they use this haunting, choir-sung cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” by Scala & Kolacny Brothers. SO GOOD

I like that version so much better than Radiohead’s. I’m against Pablo Honey sans Blow Out, you can hate me now.
But that song was perfect. I feel like it’s so easy to make that movie look completely contrived and lame, but the song helped it. Plus David Fincher’s got it on lock.
im currently obsessed with “Creep” by Scala & Kolacny Brothers. i can’t stop listening to it. i need the rest of their covers!!

Fuck these guys are prolific and it’s good seeing Alanis Morrisette and Depeche Mode on the same album. Lovin’ it.
