Feels like Christmas in May

It feels like Christmas with the amount of new music that has been released and/or leaked lately. I barely have time to catch up with or obsess over something properly until something else arouses my ADD-rattled auditory senses. Rather than take the time to over-analyze every track I am going to present you with some of my favorite new music. It is here for your listening pleasure to feel free to fall in love with and then try to get tickets to see these artists when they roll through your town (because let’s be honest, nothing compares to seeing a band live; nothing compares to hearing every note and trill from your favorite song completely envelop you.)

I will, however, say a little tid-bit about this first band. Broken Social Scene has been one of those bands, for me, that has a song that seems to always play a part in a pivotal or momentous time in my life. I can honestly say that they are one of my top 3 favorite bands, and that their music gives me that tingly, uncontrollably-smiling, infinite-feeling-that-charlie-describes experience that we are all looking for. Like the amorphous collective they themselves are, their music is constantly changing, yet there still resides this beautiful sense of familiarity in every song. I am jumping out of my skin to see them again on Monday at the Henry Fonda, updates to come : )

UPDATE: MIND BLOWN! ’nuff said. BSS once again put on a gorgeous, masterful, 2+ hour set that has left me completely speechless.

I warn you though, you’re going to want full albums after hearing these wonderful sneak peeks. Your ears will thank you.
